10 ways to take showering to the next level Are you fed up with your feeble-flow pathetic excuse for a shower? Are you less than enamoured with your sorry-looking shower curtain? If the answers to either or both are a yes, maybe it’s time for a change. While it may seem like a big expense and a big job, upgrading your shower is an investment you won’t regret. But even if a bathroom revamp isn’t on the cards, there are still some things you can do to take showering to the next level. Here are 10 ways (some big, some small) to make your daily shower experience better: 1. Install a water-saving airdrop shower system Reduce your shower water by up to 60 per cent with airdrop shower technology. Airdrop shower technology, such as that found in the Hansgrohe Raindance shower systems, (available at Bathroom Discount Centre here ) enriches water with air to create plumper water droplets, while conserving resources at the same time. If you simply want to replace your shower head to control the flow (and excessive waste) of water, go for an eco-friendly shower head. The Which Eco Shower head buying guide recommends you check your existing shower water usage by placing a 2-litre container under it while the shower is running full flow. If it takes less than 12 seconds to fill, a water-saving shower head could benefit you. 2. Consider multiple shower heads and steam features If you really want to make your shower a spa-like experience, put in a shower that doubles as a steam experience. You will need to install a moisture barrier before you tile any walls. Imagine having a spa experience every single day! 3. Can you make room for a separate shower cubicle? Over the bath showers are a great compromise if you don’t have the space for a separate shower cubicle, but nothing beats having both a bath and a shower. If you can nick some space from an oversized adjoining bedroom, then go for it. A shower is just as important as a bath. 4. Go frameless If you happen to be upgrading your shower cubicle, go frameless. They look fabulous and are easy to clean. With their simple lines, frameless glass shower doors also give the illusion of more space 5. Go walk-in Especially useful for those who are less mobile , walk-in showers are a stylish and practical addition to any bathroom. If space is at a premium, a walk-in shower can take up less space than installing a ready-made cubicle. Bespoke bathroom designs can be cleverly worked to allow a slimline bath, a narrow basin, compact toilet and walk-in shower fit together without looking cramped. 6. Add a shower bench Adding a bench to your shower will help you to slow down your shower routine. Taking time to relax before and after your shower will add to your sense of well-being. 7. Consider a smart high-tech upgrade If you love spending time in the shower, why not consider a smart shower head. You can monitor and manage energy usage, play music, take calls and more. Depending on the model you go for, you can even control it with voice commands through Amazon’s virtual assistant, Alexa. We highly recommend singing in the shower. Use luxury lotions and potions everyday Don’t save your best bathroom and shower products for special occasions. Consider every shower as a treat and use your luxury products to pamper yourself on a regular basis. If you are in the habit of buying cheap shower products, it’s time to switch it up. If you are serious about taking your shower experience to the next level it’s time to get rid of all of those threadbare scratchy towels. Add style to your bathroom and replenish your towel cupboard with some of these . 10. Add a shower filter Did you know that shower water can contain an array of chemicals like chlorine? And that we absorb more chlorine through showering than through drinking water. Chlorine is, by the way, a toxin that is harmful to human health. Find more on the facts about chlorine here . Chlorine is present in public water systems and is easily absorbed into our pores when we shower. A specialist chlorine shower filter has a carbon filter capable of removing up to 99 per cent of the chlorine in tap water. Adding one of these is a no-brainer.
